About Me

Hello, I’m Jayne

Life presents us with many complex challenges that can deeply affect our emotional wellbeing. Whether you're facing immediate concerns or seeking longer-term personal growth, I'm committed to supporting you by creating a safe and confidential space allowing you to make sense of things and work towards healing.

My Story

I'm a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and have extensive experience working with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, parenting challenges, family conflicts, narcissistic abuse, bereavement, loss, addiction and trauma.

My training as an integrative therapist means I can adapt my approach to meet your unique needs, drawing from various therapeutic methods. I may use a Psychodynamic approach to understand how past experiences and patterns of thinking and behaving may unknowingly be influencing your present behaviours today. I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to develop practical coping strategies or Attachment Theory to explore relationship patterns. Other approaches I may use include Gestalt Therapy and Mindfulness which focuses on present moment experiences, enhancing the mind-body connection. Ultimately I will be guided by what works for you best in order for you to feel empowered to create positive change.

My journey into counselling began with supporting others in various capacities, including volunteering on crisis helplines, assisting vulnerable individuals and those with disability and working with neurodiversity. These experiences, in addition to my own life experiences, both personal and working in the corporate sector, have shaped my approach to therapy, giving me valuable insights into the challenges my clients bring to therapy. I welcome diversity and difference, working with people of all cultures, backgrounds, beliefs and genders.

I have a BACP accredited advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My training included specialised workshops in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), neuroscience, attachment, therapeutic alliance, psychiatry, psychopathology and psychodynamics, time limited counselling and working with children and young people.

In order to support my clients in the best way possible, I am committed to continuous professional development and staying current with the latest research in mental health.

I work in accordance with the strict guidelines of the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Code of Ethics).
